Sales Representative CV Example (2026)

This example is for a B2B sales representative with a few years of field or phone sales who wants a senior or key account role. It shows how to lead with the numbers sales managers hire on: revenue, percentage of target, new accounts and ranking against the team.

A fictional example: the person, the employers and the contact details are invented. Shown in the Pulse template.

Why this CV works

  • Grew my territory's annual revenue from £1.1m to £1.4m in two years by opening 38 new accounts in construction and facilities management.

Before and after revenue, a time frame and how he did it. A sales manager can see the size of territory he can handle.

  • Hit 112% of target in 2025 and 104% in 2024; ranked 2nd of 9 field reps on new-business revenue.

Target percentages for two years plus a team ranking show he is consistent, not lucky in one quarter.

  • Won back 9 lapsed accounts worth about £120,000 a year by offering free quarterly stock reviews.

Winning back lapsed customers is a skill of its own, and the money attached makes it concrete.

  • Made 60–80 outbound calls a day and booked an average of 8 qualified meetings a week for the field team.

Activity numbers from an earlier, junior role prove he knows how to prospect, which every field role still needs.

  • Full UK driving licence (clean)

Most territory jobs come with a company car, so a clean licence is something recruiters look for straight away.

Skills to include

  • New business development
  • Account management
  • Territory planning
  • Prospecting and cold calling
  • Negotiation and closing
  • Pipeline management and forecasting
  • CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot)
  • Needs analysis and product demos
  • Quoting and pricing
  • Full UK driving licence

Mistakes to avoid

  • Writing “exceeded targets” without saying which target, by how much, or where you ranked in the team.
  • Leaving out revenue, deal sizes and new accounts. Sales managers hire on numbers, so give yours (rounded is fine).
  • Listing every product you sold instead of who you sold to, how long the sales cycle was and how you found new customers.

Country tip

For UK field sales jobs, put “Full UK driving licence” on your CV and say if it is clean: most territory roles come with a company car. Leave off your photo and date of birth, and don't name confidential client accounts or margins; rounded pound figures are enough.

Frequently asked questions

How do I write a sales representative CV?

Open with a short profile saying what you sell and to whom, then give each job its numbers: revenue, percentage of target, new accounts and your ranking. Add your CRM, your sectors and your driving licence.

How do I write a sales CV with no sales experience?

Use any job where you persuaded people or hit a target, such as retail upselling, hospitality, fundraising or phone work. Describe it with the same numbers-first bullets and name the CRM or tills you used.

Should I put my sales figures on my CV?

Yes. Revenue, target percentage and new accounts are what sales managers read first. Round them, keep them honest and leave out anything confidential, such as client margins.
